25-year-old Saudi woman has become the eighth person to die of swine flu in Saudi Arabia, the kingdom’s Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.
The woman tested positive for the H1N1 virus and was admitted to a hospital in the Najran region on Wednesday, health officials said.
She was moved to the Intensive Care Unit but did not respond to treatment and died on Friday, the ministry said in a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
The first swine flu death in Saudi Arabia was reported in Dammam in the Eastern Province on July 27. The other deaths occurred in Dammam, Qassim, Abha,india
and Riyadh over the following 10 days, the Saudi Gazette reported.
